TRANSPORTATION PLANNING

Traffic planning is a key ingredient in both municipal and private development planning. It is the process of assessing traffic impacts and then planning the physical and operational improvements required to maintain satisfactory traffic flow.

Initial phase of a one million square-foot industrial park in Putnam County, New York for which we developed access plans and impact analyses.Frederick P. Clark Associates has completed over 1000 projects, ranging from small to very large (over three million square feet), and including a wide variety of retail, office, industrial, public and residential uses.

Typically, our  traffic planning staff works as a team with the firm’s environmental and planning professionals in coordination with clients and other consultants.

Involvement normally follows this progression:
  1. Analysis of existing traffic and roadway conditions
  2. Detailed access and impact studies
  3. Presentations as part of the governmental approval process.

We have established effective relationships with governmental and private entities responsible for project reviews. Analytical techniques used are of the type found most acceptable to these reviewing agencies.

Assignments for municipal clients often involve community-wide or special area traffic and parking studies, as well as the review of project proposals and environmental impact statements submitted for approval by developers.
